TIMSS 2011 took place in England in May and June 2011.

Summary of TIMSS 2011
- England’s Year 5 pupils continued to maintain above average levels of performance in maths and science, since 2007, with Year 9 pupils maintaining their level of average in both subjects.
- Gender equality in maths and scientific achievement has continued in England.
- Teachers within English schools reported similar and/or higher levels of career satisfaction with those teachers in the highest achieving countries.
